What we do

A few things we are passionate about:

Care by ear:
Prison Initiative

A family reconnection project allowing incarcerated parents to record themselves reading books to their children, creating emotional bridges through sound, compassion, and consistency. In addition to its community-based youth work, Voice of Da Voiceless has received approval from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS DOCCS) to begin distributing The Care by Ear questionnaire. This approval allows the organization to engage incarcerated individuals in its family reconnection initiative, which strengthens emotional bonds betweenfamilies through recorded storytelling and consistent communication.

Furthermore, Voice of Da Voiceless has a pending proposal with NYS DOCCS to formally implement its programs within correctional facilities, including pre-entry rehabilitation and emotional intelligence–based curriculum. This proposed expansion reflects the organization’s mission to begin transformation before release, ensuring that accountability, communication, and emotional awareness are addressed while individuals are still incarcerated.

Currently serving 165 Incarcerated Individuals throughout the United States of America via Securas App via Phone, Video, and Messaging.

• Parole Clothing & Reentry Support Program
Provides clothing, resources, and mentorship to individuals returning home from incarceration to promote dignity and confidence during reintegration.

• Faith-Based Community Outreach
Partners with local churches and community leaders to address trauma, family loss, and spiritual growth through workshops and restorative conversations.

DOA:
Domestic violence, Opioids, and
Alcohol Awareness Program

Held every Wednesday from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Utica Public Library, this program is designed to support individuals impacted by domestic violence, substance abuse, and related life challenges. Through guided discussions, emotional intelligence development, and accountability-based coaching, participants are given tools to rebuild their mindset and decision-making.
Activities include:
Group workshops
peer support circles
life-skills training
journaling,
conflict resolution exercises
goal-setting sessions
Each intentionally created to enrich their lives, restore purpose, and help reintroduce structure, confidence, and positive direction into their everyday routines.
Organizational Philosophy:
We believe that every person has the capacity to change when given the right environment, understanding, and support. We invest in the people that society often forgets because when we rebuild individuals, we rebuild families and when we rebuild families, we rebuild communities.
Our programs are designed around Three Principles:
• Communication heals. • Accountability transforms. • Consistency rebuilds.
Impact & Reach:
Since its founding, Voice of Da Voiceless, Inc. has reached incarcerated individuals and families across New York State including Utica, Rochester, Syracuse, California, and Buffalo. The organization is actively collaborating with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) to obtain official program approval for its pre-entry curriculum and facility-based initiatives. Our vision is to make emotional education and communication development a core part of every correctional facility’s rehabilitation strategy creating safer environments inside, and stronger citizens outside. Together, these partnerships demonstrate Voice of Da Voiceless ability to operate across youth, family, and correctional systems, aligning community-based prevention with institutional rehabilitation efforts. This integrated approach reinforces long-term impact by supporting youth on the outside while simultaneously addressing the needs of individuals and families impacted by incarceration.

ADVIL:
ADOLESCENTS/ADULTS DEPROGRAMMING VIOLENT INTENTIONS LEARNED

A.D.V.I.L: Adolescents & Adults Deprogramming Violent Intentions Learned is a structured redirection and accountability program developed through Voice of Da Voiceless, Inc. to help both youth and adults break cycles of violence, trauma, poor decision-making, substance abuse, and destructive thinking patterns.

The adolescent section focuses on helping young people understand identity, emotional control, accountability, communication, leadership, and the consequences of street-influenced thinking. Through mentorship, group discussions, real-life lessons, and self-reflection exercises such as the “Mirror Principle” youth are taught how to redirect anger, peer pressure, and negative environments into structure, purpose, and growth.

The adult section focuses on individuals struggling with domestic violence, alcohol abuse, opiate/opioid addiction, K2/synthetic drug awareness, emotional trauma, and learned violent behaviors. Using the “Onion Formula,” participants work through the deeper layers behind destructive behavior to uncover root causes and rebuild themselves through accountability, emotional awareness, communication, and community support.

The overall mission of A.D.V.I.L. is to replace reactive survival mindsets with discipline, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and structured personal development creating healthier individuals, families, and communities.
